"I love Lucy"'s Lucy & Desi made film w/ a little camper trailer. What was it called?

Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz made an episode or movie about "Ricky" & "Lucy" taking a trip with a tiny silver teardrop camper trailer (shot in Black & white). Lucy was in it while Ricky drove thru most of it.
A family member loves this and I am trying to track it down, however, I have no idea what episode, season, or movie it is from. (I Know this is NOT the movie entitled "The long, long trailer." The Long, long trailer was done later, with a long 40' wood paneled trailer, and was shot in color.

The Long Long Trailer!
I loved that movie when I was a kid. I don't remember an episode of them camping, but then again the silver trailer seems familiar…
*add*
Okay I had to try to find out and the only thing I could find was episode 64 The Camping Trip but I cant find if that was the one you're referring to.

If you could drop off the face of the earth, where would you go?

Seriously. I've been taking care of a 15 year old girl since March. She was 14 when we took her into our home for her own safety. After my husband passed away, I continued to care for this child and now have full power of attorney over her care and custody as assigned by her mother. It is not safe for the child to remain in this area. Knowing this, and knowing that I want to leave anyways but have no destination, her mother has requested that I bring the child with me when I leave for parts unknown. I agree to do this, since I'm leaving anyways; however, I stipulated that none of her former "friends" are to ever have an inkling of where she resides once I give up my apartment. I'm having a friend build a teardrop trailer for us so we won't have to stay in motels when we go and I'm saving cash to get a place when we land. Any suggestions on good places to live in America?

I'm asking this in Seniors because I'm a senior and want serious answers, please.
I began homeschooling this child to keep her out of the mainstream here. We have considered homeschooling her and putting my child in public school when we get to whatever place we are going to call home.

BusinessWeek has recently compiled a list for the best 50 places to raise children. They have ranked these places according to test scores, crime rates, cost of living, recreational and cultural activities, and number of schools.

Here's a link:

Good luck.

where can i find teardrop trailers in my area atascadero ca. 93422?

Are you talking about the vintage Teardrop?
If you place an ad on Craig's List under wanted you may get it faster than trying to look for one.
CL is free and you could put it under Los Angeles or Santa Barbara, etc.
Try it and see.

trailer wiring problem?

Over the holiday week end I took my teardrop trailer camping, when I hooked it up for lights only my left lights worked, so in a effort to trouble shoot the problem I disconnected the wires and used a test light, but set of wires lights up, but once I reconnect them to the tail-lights they no longer lite up. I checked the ground wired and it seems to be OK. So if I have to set of lead wires with the correct power and each lead lights up when the signal is used via a test lamp, why would they fail once the wiring is reconnected? This is a real puzzle to me.
With the harness connected, I turn the left turn signal on, and I put my test lamp on ground and the positive wired, and I got power, this test I performed on both sides of the tail each time I determined that when the toll vehicle's turn signal was on left and right that that positive wired had the correct power because my test lamp blinked. So I know I have power where the tail light are connected. but once I reconnect the tail light neither tail light blink when the toll vehicle does. at the same time the test light will blink, again show that the power is getting to the point of connection.

Ok, I'm having a little trouble understanding what it is you did and what you tested, but I'll give you an idea of what I would do if I were having this problem.

Ok, so first off, you need to determine if your problem is on the vehicle or on the trailer. Disconnect the wiring connector. Take a 12v test light and take it from the ground terminal of the vehicle wiring harness and test each terminal as you turn on the lights, apply the brakes, and use the blinkers to verify each works. If this works fine, then your vehicle side is Ok. If this does not work, then move the test light ground to a vehicle ground and try again. If it works now, you have a vehicle side ground wire problem on the wiring harness.

Alright, once you have verified the vehicle is Ok, move on to the trailer. There are a number of ways to test the workings of the trailer, I'll give you the way I would go about it. Connect the wiring harness and then have someone apply the brakes. Do both sides come on? Now have someone turn on the lights? Do both come on semi-softly? Now have someone use the blinkers, do both sides blink? You need to verify what lights are not working with which operations. If the right side is not working under ANY operations, have someone apply the brakes and hold them. Ground your test light to the trailer frame or good trailer ground. Test for voltage BEFORE the light. If you don't have voltage before the light, you know you have a broken wire coming from the trailer wiring harness because no power is making to to the light. If you DO have power before the light, move your test light to the other side of the light. If you have voltage AFTER the light, then you have a broken ground wire. If you have voltage before the light, but no voltage after the light, you likely have a bad bulb. (however I doubt that, you seem fairly competent and I don't believe your problem is that simple).

If you follow this logically, and you think about what every circuit needs (a power, a path, a load, and a ground) and you test to verify it has each, you can solve this problem easily. Good luck.

Do you need a license plate on a homemade camper ?

We have two homemade teardrop campers, i would like to know if states (TN and NC) in particular require license plates or registration to take them on the road? They are only about 5×9 foot big, about the size of a utility trailer ?

Any vehicle or trailer that uses public roadways requires a license. The trailers will probably need to be inspected to get a registration/title to apply for plates.

How does a vehicle's slope relate to its drag coefficient?

I'm designing a trailer, probably teardrop-shaped, and I'm searching for information regarding optimal design. I haven't found much in the way of specific information, so any info is appreciated. How is does slope relate to drag coefficient? Is there a specific equation which can determine the drag coefficient of a slope? I assume that the front of the trailer should have a greater slope than the rear…

As I said, any advice you can offer is appreciated =)

In incompressible flow, there sadly isn't a nice equation that gives you Cd being equal to the sin of the angle times something-something. The good news is, there are fairly user friendly programs that you can plug in the points of your trailer (airfoil) and out comes lift and drag etc. Sub2D is a free one since the organization is no more but I might be hard to find. Try DesignFoil or Profili but may be a small investment.
Manually plugging in points is a tedious task of holding your cursor over the image of your 2D trailer in a Microsoft Paint image and getting coordinates unless they allow an more advanced import. Better yet, find a friend with a CFD program and ask them to kindly run your trailer through it.

When camping, what is you preference … RV, tent, lean to, or some other means of shelter?

I have found myself most comfortable crashing out on the picnic table after everyone else has pooped out and quieted down. Seems I don’t like being enclosed in any kind of shelter. But in the even of bad weather, I’ll stick with my little teardrop trailer. She’s waterproof. What’s you game plan when camping?

A five star hotel with crisp sheets, great restaurants and shopping! I am an outdoor person, but camping is not my thing. When I went to camp as a kid, I didnt have a sleeping bag, and used a bed roll we learned to make, I woke up after a fitful night with all sorts of flora and fauna in my bedroll. I was mortified. I was supposed to stay for two weeks. When our parents came to visit after the first week on the weekend, my bags were packed and I left with my parents. So much for that!

Where can I find detail drawings for the construction of a Teardrop camper/trailer?

I'm wanting to build a Teardrop camper and am not sure how to go about starting it. I'm sure I could figure out how to build one on my own, but it would be so much easier with instructions. Does anyone know of any good website (besides Ebay, I've already looked) that has for free or for sale detail instructions on the construction of a Teardrop camper/trailer?

do a google search for it. teardrop trailers are really great…good luck

Teardrop trailer on a tent site?

Considering building a teardrop. I like tent camping myself but my camping partner has a rain omen as far as camping is concerned. (Rains, thunderstorms, torrential downpours, tornadoes when ever I camp with her (11 out of 14 times now)). So, thought about a tear drop. Do you know if most campgrounds generally let you put teardrops on tent sites because they are so small? I like seclusion, not being parked in an open lot with a bunch of RV's

I know I could call each campground individually but we just like to pack and go and don't always know where we will end up.

Thanks! :)

I have used a teardrop camper in tent sites before. Most people don't mind. Just be considerate of your neighbors and don't run your generator all night.
