If you could drop off the face of the earth, where would you go?

Seriously. I've been taking care of a 15 year old girl since March. She was 14 when we took her into our home for her own safety. After my husband passed away, I continued to care for this child and now have full power of attorney over her care and custody as assigned by her mother. It is not safe for the child to remain in this area. Knowing this, and knowing that I want to leave anyways but have no destination, her mother has requested that I bring the child with me when I leave for parts unknown. I agree to do this, since I'm leaving anyways; however, I stipulated that none of her former "friends" are to ever have an inkling of where she resides once I give up my apartment. I'm having a friend build a teardrop trailer for us so we won't have to stay in motels when we go and I'm saving cash to get a place when we land. Any suggestions on good places to live in America?

I'm asking this in Seniors because I'm a senior and want serious answers, please.
I began homeschooling this child to keep her out of the mainstream here. We have considered homeschooling her and putting my child in public school when we get to whatever place we are going to call home.

BusinessWeek has recently compiled a list for the best 50 places to raise children. They have ranked these places according to test scores, crime rates, cost of living, recreational and cultural activities, and number of schools.

Good luck.
