If it were me I'd go to a state that has a warm climate most of the year. If you can afford to live in a small town I think that would be a good move. Do like some of the people on here have said and check out the place you might want to stay in before making it a permanent residence.

Good luck
References :
I would suggest Austin, Texas, it is a wonderful college town.
I think it would be a tremendous help in the rearing of a 15 year old daughter. It would stress education and she would be surrounded by young adults who are actually trying to achieve a goal. It's a beautiful place as well, rolling hills, lakes, huge trees.
I think this would help the young lady become a well rounded adult.
There is so much to do there. If she ever wanted a job, it would be a great place to "get started"
References :
Good Luck

Have you considered Utah? It's a very family orientated state and low crime rates. The predominant religion scares many off, but it's not as bad as most think. Employment is easy to find and the cost of living is relatively low. My parents moved here before I was born because they heard it was a good place to raise a family. I raised my family here too.
References :
I was thinking this was going to be another Wally question and I was going to say to the Cheshire Moon!!

I would not go into any large metro areas. I would also check crime rates. If you find an interesting place go into the police site for the area and check for sexual predators. I was amazed to learn how many there are near where we live!!!

It sounds like you are doing a wonderful thing. I wish you and your young lady the best. Be cautious, yet have fun!
References :
If you're determined to remain in the US you might consider Columbus, New Mexico. Small desert town 30 miles south of Deming, 5 miles north of Mexico. Cheap medications across the border, low rent, nice people, quiet environment.

Lordsburg's also nice, Safford, AZ, Deming, for that matter. Hatchita's smaller, Antelope Wells, Rodeo [nearer the mountains].

Edit: You might also look into Eagar, AZ. Not a bad town. John Wayne was born there as I recall.

You can get a satellite view of each by just typing in the name of the community in the lower right corner under 'Search for location' and click the magnifying glass: http://www.flashearth.com/
References :
All places are good if you find the right neighborhoods to live in, in my opinion. I am seriously and have been seriously thinking if I could afford it I would move to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Some people don't like it but the high desert has an appealing feel to me.
References :
BusinessWeek has recently compiled a list for the best 50 places to raise children. They have ranked these places according to test scores, crime rates, cost of living, recreational and cultural activities, and number of schools.

Atlanta area especially north has so many campgrounds, so many people it is easy to get lost. Many lakes or even the mountains. She could be schooled in a small town unless you opt for homeschooling. You must keep her away from phone to insure she does not contact old acquaintainces.
Florida too has many camp grounds and kids can be picked up for school from them by bus. Suggested the couth east for the mild climate and the ability to be lost among the population.
